Miscellaneous papers from the attic of Pavilion X [manuscript] 1767 (1824-79) 1917.

The collection contains letters, notes, poems & stories, financial and legal documents, newspaper fragments, business and calling cards, wallpaper samples; and printed items. Letters include one from A. Booth, 1832, conveying University of Virginia news, and several to Fanny Hunter, staying with Judge Tucker at the University, 1841-1842, conveying family news. Topics of interest include a woman being bled twice until she fainted, 1842, and a fire in Richmond next door to a house where "Eugene" and an unnamed wounded soldier are convalescing, 1862. Of interest are a deed fragment, 1767, for land in Hampshire County; an invitation to a ball at the Virginia Military Institute, 1842; and Latin exercises of John Davis Minor, 1848. Printed fragments include a copy of Walker's letter on the annexation of Texas; "The school friend"; "Supplement to inductive geometry"; and "Blunt's New Chart"; Correspondents and recipents include members of the Hunter, Magill and Minor families, esp. John Barbee Minor.
